and Aesthetic Facial Reshaping Procedural Details FACELIFT and AESTHETIC RESHAPING What is it? A facelift is a surgical procedure that addresses defects and imperfections in your face that are associated with aging. The end result makes you look younger and healthier. Expectations: As you age, your skin loses elasticity. During a facelift, loose or sagging skin is tightened, thus eliminating deep creases and wrinkles. The procedure also enhances definition to the jawline and neck area by removing excess skin jowls, loose neck skin, and excess fatty tissue. Additionally, we may modify muscle and tissue as required to achieve pleasing results. Your face is essentially reshaped and contoured, highlighting your natural beauty. A pre-op plan will be carefully created for you, and may include changes in diet and other habits that impact your health. You will be asked to fast the night prior to surgery, and may be asked not to take certain medications, refrain from common activities, or stop certain habits. The duration of results from your facelift can vary depending on many factors, including genetics and natural aging. We will create a post-op plan specifically for you so you can enjoy the results of your surgery for many years to come. This plan may require a change of lifestyle—reducing sun exposure and eliminating smoking, for instance. Facelift Procedure Details: In most cases, a facelift procedure is performed in a hospital or surgery center and you may expect to stay over at the facility for one night, or return to your home the same day, with home nursing care. The procedure is most often performed with the patient under general anesthesia, and the operation will take three to four hours. In some cases, however, local anesthesia with intravenous sedation is used, depending on the procedure we plan for you. Scarring During the procedure, incisions are made in areas of natural creasing and behind your hairline to minimize visible scarring, or completely hide it. Beginning above one of your ears, we make an incision that extends down the front of your ear and then curves beneath your earlobe to extend behind your ear and into your scalp hairline. The same incision is made on both sides of the face. Another incision may be made under your chin if a significant amount of fat needs to be removed from the neck, or if the tissues have become so lax that they can not be properly repositioned solely through use of the standard incision. Recovery: After the procedure, you will usually experience bruising for two weeks, and swelling that can last from four to six weeks. The affected skin may be tender and numb, and can feel dry and tight. Prescription medications are used to control pain, which can be mild to moderate. You can expect to return to work in about three weeks, and can resume full physical activities in three to four weeks. Please call the office to set up a

Temporary brow lifts can be achieved using Botox, or, for a much longer-term solution, we can perform a surgical brow lift. Expectations: Eyebrows are an expressive part of your face, and they play a major role in conveying your mood to others. Sometimes, however, they can droop excessively, so you may look unintentionally tired, sad, or angry. A brow lift can correct such problems and, in the process, remove furrows, creases, and wrinkles from your face, thus giving your face a brighter appearance. Brow Lift Procedure Details: Brow lifts are performed in a hospital or in an ambulatory surgery center on an outpatient basis. The procedure typically lasts between two and three hours. Local and/or general anesthesia is used. A pre-op plan will be carefully created for you, and may include changes in diet and other habits that impact your health. You will be asked to fast the night prior to surgery, and may be asked not to take certain medications, refrain from common activities, or stop certain habits. The results from your brow lift surgery can last between five and seven years. We will create a post-op plan specifically for you so you can enjoy the results of your surgery without complications. This plan may require a change of lifestyle—reducing sun exposure and eliminating smoking, for instance. Here are some examples of brow lift procedures we can do. Remember, your situation is unique, and we will thoroughly analyze the best procedure for you. During consultation, we will explain in detail the advantages and disadvantages inherent with each of these procedures, answering any questions or concerns you may have. Coronal
Brow Lift Scarring Hairline Brow Lift Scarring Endoscopic Brow Lift Scarring Recovery: Pain following brow lift surgery should be minimal, and we will prescribe medication for you as appropriate. Itching or numbness may also occur where the incision was made. Bruising and swelling can last around three weeks. You'll be able to resume normal activities in four to six weeks. return to list of surgical procedures What is it? A neck lift is a surgical procedure performed to tighten muscle and skin in the neck area, and to remove fat. It is often performed in conjunction with a face lift. The neck lift redefines the jawline and angle between the neck and lower jaw, and corrects the vertical bands that may form in the neck as a result of muscle laxity. Expectations: Over time, elasticity of the neck's skin is lost, and fat builds up, resulting in hanging or drooping skin under the chin. A neck lift can address such conditions. Liposuction may be used to remove fat, and excess skin can be removed and repositioned, restoring definition of the angle between your neck and lower jaw. Neck lifts can play a dramatic role in restoring a more youthful and defined look. Neck Lift Procedure Details: During a neck lift, you will most likely be sedated with general anesthesia. The operation involves making a small incision beneath your chin and, when necessary, around your ears (a facelift incision). Excess skin and fat are removed where necessary. Liposuction can be performed to remove excess fat. A pre-op plan will be carefully created for you, and may include changes in diet and other habits that impact your health. You will be asked to fast the night prior to surgery, and may be asked not to take certain medications, refrain from common activities, or stop certain habits. The results from your neck lift surgery will be obvious within four to six weeks, and can last indefinitely. We will create a post-op plan specifically for you so you can enjoy the results of your surgery without complications. This plan may require a change of lifestyle—reducing sun exposure and eliminating smoking, for instance. Scarring Incisions for a neck lift are carefully placed to minimize visible scarring. The incisions will be made in inconspicuous locations around the ears and under your chin. Recovery: After a neck lift, you can expect mild discomfort, which is controlled with prescription medication. You will also experience swelling and bruising, so you will wear a light neck dressing to reduce swelling for about five to seven days. It only takes about one week for you to be able to resume full work and physical activities. Please call the office to set up a
